A job well done

A Scanner Darkly, I can report with relief, is brilliant. The animation effect works perfectly to enhance the paranoid mood, and lets them do the scramble suits excellently. Performances are sterling - pick of the bunch being Robert Downey Jr.'s Jim Barris who is disturbing and hilarious in equal measure. It's a very faithful adaptation of the book - not always a good thing - but in this case I think it does actually transfer, more or less. The best Dick film version so far, Blade Runner notwithstanding?
